Wood carving blades forged from a laminate of silversteel and Mild steel, this combination allows for a very hard edge the is reinforced by the softer mild steel sides. These blades have exceptional edge holding and can be resharpened by stropping on leather almost indefinately. These blades are designed for woodcarving and have flat bevels for maximum control of the cut. The are finished by hand to ensure the bevels are truely flat and then I finally strop on leather to put the final polish on the blade. They are made without a plunge line / ricasso at the tang, this makes getting a perfect fit at the handle much more difficult, they are however much easier to sharpen also the edge can run right up to the handle allowing for maximum leverage and control to be exerted on a cut.. They are sold in two basic styles; a straight edged wharncliffe and a rounded edged sloyd type. Of the two the belly in the sloyd allows for a greater range of cuts and makes for a more versatile blade.  The warncliffe style is made approximately 10mm shorter than the sloyd type. These blades are all sold fully sharpened.
