Wood carving blades forged from a laminate of silversteel and Mild steel, this combination allows for a very hard edge that is reinforced by the softer mild steel sides. These blades have exceptional edge holding and can be resharpened by stropping on leather almost indefinately. These blades are designed for woodcarving and have flat bevels for maximum control of the cut. They are finished by hand to ensure the bevels are truely flat and then I finally strop on leather to put the final polish on the blade. They are supplied unhandled but have two shoulders ready filed into the tang to make fitting a handle easier and neater. They are sold in two basic styles; a straight edged wharncliffe and a rounded edged sloyd type. Of the two the belly in the sloyd allows for a greater range of cuts and makes for a more versatile blade.  The warncliffe style is made approximately 10mm shorter than the sloyd type.
