 The  hook of this blade is forged to 16mm internal diameter making the cut quite agressive, it is primarily designed for roughing out the bowl of a spoon. However the radius of  the hook is blended in quite gently making a compound curve so they are capable of fine cuts and some experienced spoon carvers use these exclusively for finishing. Supplied unhandled. Left and right hand blades are available, right handed pictured. All of these blades are supplied unhandled, the tang can be easily glued into a handle with epxoy resin . They are of a laminate construction, utilising a hard high carbon steel cutting edge ( silver steel) supported and reinforced by a softer mild steel backing, hand honed and stropped for a perfectly smooth, polished cut.
