Watertwist toasting fork

Forged from a single piece of 8mm round mild steel, one end is split with a chisel to form the tines which are drawn out, rounded and coaxed into sinuous curves. The handle is decorated with a watertwist, one of my favourite patterns although in this example velocity of the twists increase as the handle tapers towards the hook at the end. A real exercise in forging as all the shaping is performed hot with hand tools, the finished fork comes straight from the anvil, is given a light coating in olive oil and is ready for use. Beautifuly light, well balanced and elegant, when I take these to shows customers that pick them up tend to buy them.
